This pedal was a hard one for DMB to describe in words. It just does its whiskey bending thing and is too much fun to play to get caught up in cliched tone references that try to wrap its gnarly vibe into a neat little website space. But, for those into that, we will try our best to convince you in words: The Whiskey Bender is an overdrive and a fuzz. How is it both? At lower Drive settings the Whiskey Bender has no problem giving you a lovely mild drive character that blooms with a hint of chime. Move the Drive to 12 o'clock and get a gnarly crunch full of harmonic content and terrific dynamic response. Start moving your Drive above 12 o'clock and enter the realm of the chewiest drive/fuzz you've heard. Single note lines have a beautiful sag and slight zippered effect while chords are still huge and full of harmonic content. Sporting a name that is misleading, the Whiskey Bender is NOT a "bender" style circuit. Complete with a Bite control (Presence or Cut) you have the ability to control how much top end you want to cut through your mix. Loaded with the addition of DMB’s Clean knob circuit, that will let you dial attack and chime back into the dirty signal at any time, the Whiskey Bender is a complete harmonic experience. In a world of full of transparent overdrives, British crunch boxes, and TS clones, the Whiskey Bender is sure to give you barrels of tone to stand apart from everyone else, but don't take our word for it."
